Pasadena Police and Fire Memorial Ceremony
An opportunity for city officials, police and fire personnel and community members to honor Pasadena’s first responders who died in the line of duty serving the people that live, work and visit in Pasadena.
Each year, the Pasadena community gathers in front of City Hall as part of a solemn ceremony that celebrates and honors the lives of police officers and firefighters who have sacrificed their lives in the performance of duty for the city of Pasadena.
By taking part in this annual tradition, city officials, emergency responders, and residents honor the families of the heroes who gave their lives unselfishly in service to the city that they took an oath to protect. These brave families are an extension of the Pasadena police and fire community and show up year after year to be a part of the ceremony that honors the lives of their loved ones.
Family members of these fallen heroes will be honored with a public reading of their fallen officer or firefighter’s name and the year of their passing. To date, seven Pasadena police officers and 10 firefighters have been killed in the line of duty. Our memorial service is one of countless others across the country that coincides with National Police Week, which recognizes the sacrifices police officers make for the communities they serve across the country each and every day.
Pasadena residents are encouraged to attend and support the emergency responders who put their lives on the line every day to serve the residents, visitors, and businesses of our great city. For more information on next year’s ceremony, sign up for our mailing list.
