Community Dialogue Meeting
We were glad to participate in a Community Dialogue Meeting with our local residents! Thanks to all who made it out.
"I would like to thank all the Officers who participated in today’s Community Dialogue Meeting. It was such a big success. It should be noted that this was a whole day event (8am to 5pm). We had approximately 30 members from the Community and 20 Officers from Pasadena Police Department who participated. It should be noted that 10 of the 30 Community members were senior students from Blair High School. Further big thank you to Ben Hicks and Principal David Ibarra from Blair for making this possible.
There were several Community Members that approached me at the conclusion of this dialogue and thanked the Pasadena Police Department and the Officers who participated for our effort towards Community Engagement. There were in-depth conversations that took place by Community Members and Officers. At the end of the day the Community Members walked away with a better understanding of what we do on a daily basis and our Officers walked away with an understanding for the importance of doing Police Work the ‘Pasadena Way’.
I also have to give a big thank you to Stone & Busailah, LLP and Cushman & Wakefield (Raquel Martin) for letting the Pasadena Police Department use their wonderful big Conference Room. The dialogue was held offsite in the beautiful building located at 1055 E. Colorado Blvd. I also thank Raquel Martin for validating all participants parking.
A special thank you to AJ Ali (Director of the Movie – Walking While Black), Irvin Myles, and Doug Hamblin for helping me facilitate this event.
A few pictures from the event and all the names of the Officers who participated will be listed below.
